Epiphany Voice

Designing a voice-to-action app for speed, simplicity, and seamless idea capture.

App UX-UI

Epiphany Voice

Overview

This project delivers a mobile app design of a unique product - audio notetaker with a practical user experience. I've worked on Epiphany project for almost a year ensuring the app offers best experience for note-taking and helps busy users record and share their thoughts.

Problem & Goal

Capturing ideas quickly is essential, but traditional note-taking apps create friction—forcing users to type, organize, and revisit notes manually. Epiphany solves this by turning voice into instant actions, ensuring no idea gets lost in the process.

The goal was to enable users to capture, record, and send their ideas with a single tap—eliminating friction and ensuring instant action without disruption.

Process & Approach

The design of this project was part of monthly sprints and iterations that aimed to improve the product constantly. A human-centered design was the main focus since the app needed to solve complex problems within a single tap, or more. After catching up with the old version of the app, I conducted surveys and tests to identify major problems and improve user experience, hence allowing a bigger user influx. Constant A/B testing and iterating during the process made enormously contributed to improved user experience. The design was done for the Apple Watch format too. Here are some screens from the process:

Solution

I improved the app into a frictionless, voice-to-action app that allows users to capture ideas instantly and send them where they need to go with a single tap. Key solutions include:

  • One-Tap Voice Capture – Simplified the process so users can record and send thoughts instantly without navigating complex menus.

  • Seamless App Integrations – Enabled direct routing of voice notes to Slack, Asana, Notion, Obsidian, Todoist, ClickUp, and more.

  • Minimalist, Distraction-Free UI – Created a lightweight, intuitive interface that keeps the focus on quick idea capture and execution.

  • Alternative note-taking option – Allowed users to switch the mode to written note-taking in case they're not able to use voice at time.

  • Optimized for Speed – Designed interactions to ensure zero delay between recording and sending, reducing friction in idea management.

Outcome

  • 80% faster idea capture, reducing cognitive load by having a simple interface.

  • Seamless adoption, with users quickly integrating Epiphany into their existing workflows.

  • Higher retention rates, as the one-tap recording feature increased daily engagement.

  • Positive user feedback, highlighting the app’s ease of use, speed, and ability to prevent ideas from getting lost.
